June 23, 2023 //  by Sarah Olson//  Leave a Comment

Carla Huff, IDS Recruitment and Training Coordinator, is offering several opportunities for important training that may benefit those who do indigent defense work.

The webinars are open to public defenders, private attorneys (and staff) who do indigent criminal defense work. Don’t miss your chance to attend one of her “Adverse Childhood Experiences 101” webinars!

These webinars are from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on the days offered, with 60 minutes of CLE available. Pre-registration is required.**

About Adverse Childhood Experiences 101:

Childhood experiences impact overall development and functioning, resulting in risk and protective factors. This presentation will focus on the impact of adverse childhood experiences, impact on brain development, overall health risk factors and what the data has shown about ACE scores. Attorneys will gain knowledge on how trauma may impact client/attorney relationships with focused education on improving overall outcomes by interacting with clients in a trauma-informed and trauma-focused manner.

Cost: There is no registration fee for participants. Those interested in earning 1 CLE will be billed by the State Bar for the cost of CLE at $3.50 per hour. To receive CLE credit, participants must pre-register individually.
