Attorneys handling homicide cases who are looking to update their knowledge of forensic pathology should consider attending this excellent program that is offered annually. The training is geared toward medical examiners and forensic practitioners, and is also offered for CLE credit. This year’s conference will feature presentations about toxicology topics, bias in medicolegal death investigations and investigation in deaths due to natural causes.
The program objectives are to:
• Improve knowledge and practice in investigations of death related to toxic substances.
• Recognize and avoid sources of bias in medicolegal death investigation.
• Discuss the ongoing changes in the NC medical examiner system.
• Improve knowledge and practice in investigations of deaths due to natural causes.
