Graduated from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, completed general psychiatry training at Zucker Hillside Hospital in Queens (including specialty training within an Obsessive Compulsive Disorders Clinic), and forensic psychiatry training at Montefiore in the Bronx. Working in large, free standing psychiatric hospitals in major metro areas provided exposure to a wide variety of cultures that allows Dr. Kaufman to utilize culturally informed care in his day to day practice. Has experience working in correctional settings, performing NGRI and competency to strand trial evaluations, conducting psychiatric evaluations for individuals in immigration court, and evaluating individuals for jail-diversion programs.
