Dr. Joshua Kirven is the chief consultant and founder of KirvKorp Impact Solutions. Josh is a clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience as an academic, advocate, researcher, community practitioner, and trainer. His scope of work looks at the social and environmental determinants of mental health stressors causing trauma, community alienation, and deviant behavior of disenfranchised individuals and other marginalized groups. His research and practice focus acutely on social criminology, ecological maladaptive functioning, and place- and socioeconomic-related disparities that lead to criminality. Josh is a faculty member in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an expert trainer with the American Institute for the Advancement of Forensic Studies. Josh’s subject-matter expert (SME) work addresses public safety solutions that intersect with crime, law and practice, behavioral health, forensic mitigation, SUD justice, and access to care.
