Defense attorneys should be aware of an issue involving a DNA analyst at Bode Technology. Bode is a private accredited laboratory that performs DNA and other forensic analyses. Bode has a memorandum of understanding to perform DNA testing of previously untested sexual assault kits for the NC State Crime Lab. Also, Bode is a lab that is used by some defense teams seeking independent testing of evidence.
The issue involved improper use of an electronic signature of another lab scientist.
